Connecticut has seen a large increase in opioid addiction and sadly, the death that follows it. According to The National Institute of Drug Abuse there were over 955 deaths involving opioids in 2017. That is 27.7 deaths per 100,000 people in the population. When you compare this to the national average of 14.6 per 100,000 Connecticut has almost doubled the national average. What is to blame for this increase in Connecticut? The data shows it is synthetic opioids that are causing the vast majority of deaths in the state. In 2015 there were a recorded 79 deaths from synthetic opioids. In 2017 that number skyrocketed to 686.
Thankfully, Connecticut has providers of Suboxone (Buprenorphine) to help those suffering from opioid use disorder.
According to SAMSHA’s suboxone doctor locator, there are currently 881 suboxone doctors in Connecticut. This is compared with states like Arizona with over 1,100 suboxone doctors or Ohio with over 2,000 providers. One of Connecticut largest neighbors, New York currently has over 4,000 suboxone providers in the entire state.
So, how do you find a suboxone doctor near you in Connecticut? Easy. You contact Recovery Delivered. We offer care for anyone from Stamford near NY to Hartford and even more. Because our model is online medication assisted treatment, wherever you have your phone and service, you can meet with a suboxone doctor and addiction counselor all of whom are licensed in the state of Connecticut.
When it comes to medication assisted treatment, there are two costs to consider. Thankfully, state Medicaid and all insurances will cover the cost of treatment, however, many people don’t have insurance. So, for the sake of information, we will use average cash rates within the state of Connecticut.
The first area of costs for patients without insurance is the meeting with a physician to determine if Medication-Assisted Treatment is right for them. With RecoveryDelivered.com, patients meet with a Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Physician. These online meetings will be weekly for the first 8 weeks to ensure the patients safety. These are done through our telemedicine app. On average, if a person were to enter a physical suboxone clinic in CT they could pay over $100 per visit.
The second area of cost is the medication itself. On average the cost of Suboxone is $1 per MG prescribed. However, there are discount coupons available to lower this cost for many people. Additionally, someone in a treatment program could opt for the generic version to save money.
Recovery Delivered was born out of the opioid epidemic plaguing our country. Our Founders both have a decade of experience in the addiction treatment space and saw that many people didn’t have access to care, and those that did have access weren’t happy.
So, they created Recovery Delivered, an online addiction treatment and medication management company. By using technology, they connect patients with online Suboxone doctors who provide life-saving addiction medicine almost 100% online
